Gloria Mary Nabirye

Gloria Mary Nabirye

My name is Gloria Mary Nabirye, a 22-year-old student at Uganda Christian University. I was born and raised in Entebbe.

Growing up, I always wanted to pursue a practical course. Right from high school I wanted to pursue mass communication which is a combination of journalism and communication.

Joining university, I knew my dream had come true, however was quite not impressed with the approach simply because we focused more on theory than practical which made it hard for me to acquire skills such as photography.

When I heard about the opportunity from Cameras For Girls, I was so excited and immediately applied. At no cost apart from my time, I was able to get a camera to practice photography which is so exciting.

Recently I was the photographer at a friend’s graduation party using the camera I was given. I will forever be grateful to Cameras For Girls, for the opportunity and for enabling me achieve my dream.
