Peninah Nalubega

Peninah Nalubega, a journalism and communication student at Makerere University, is an active participant in the Cameras for Girls program (Cohort 4), specializing as a photographer focused on rural Uganda. Her mission is driven by the observation that rural challenges are often overlooked by mainstream photographers who concentrate on urban areas. Peninah aims to capture and bring attention to the struggles faced by students in rural villages, such as long commutes, limited resources, and the absence of essential services. Beyond storytelling, she advocates for public awareness and government support, highlighting issues like teenage pregnancies and academic challenges prevalent in these regions. Peninah is dedicated to promoting positive change and equality, stressing the Importance of giving rural villages the attention they deserve.
