Our 2023 Uganda 4-day workshop experience

In 2023, our training expanded across two spaces: Makerere University, our trusted partner since 2018, and the Youth Arts Movement, Uganda, where we worked in the heart of Kampala’s urban setting.

This year also marked the beginning of a new partnership with Girl Up Uganda, part of the UN-backed global Girl Up initiative. Together, we created an environment where young women could build their skills, strengthen their voices, and connect their learning directly to community impact.

These collaborations underscored the power of partnerships—academic, grassroots, and global—in advancing opportunities for girls in journalism, photography, and storytelling.
